Father of Melton Thomas At Couley, Dies At Jonesboro

Mr. V. "Ham" Thomas of Summerville, La., died at Dr. T. A. Delke's Clinic in
Jonesboro, La., November 4, 1937.  He was 73 years of age.  The remains were
taken to Taylor's Chapel at Summerville, La., for burial.  Rev. L. D. Posey of
Jena, La. was in charge of the services with the Masonic Lodge of Urania
officiating at the grave.

Surviving are his widow, three sons and six daughters.  They are Author
Thomas, Monroe, La.; Oscar Thomas, Jonesboro, La.; Melton Thomas, Couley; Mrs.
Gladys Protho, Shreveport; Mrs. Leona Williams, Hodge; Mrs. Ida White,
Zenoria; Misses Jessie, Leta, and Minnie Mae Thomas of Summerville, La., and
twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild.
