Zion Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Fowler Tilton, 59, native and lifelong resident of Winn Parish, were conducted at Mt. Zion Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, with the Rev. T. A. Brown of West Monroe officiating. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery was directed by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Tilton died suddenly of a heart attack at her residence at Tilton's Camp on Saline Lake, Rt. 1, Atlanta, early Tuesday morning. She was born in Winn Parish January 16, 1891 and was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Tilton of Rt. 1, Atlanta, three sons, Elbert Tilton of Atlanta, Olan Tilton of Ville Platte, and Albert Tilton of Montgomery; one daughter, Mrs. Willo Dee Dykes of Shreveport; three brothers, Tobe Fowler, Sam Fowler, and Frank Fowler, all of Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. Clara Johnson of Montgomery. Pallbearers were S. M. Fowler, Burke Fowler, Orville Fowler, Buford Fowler, W. A. Fowler, and Red Johnson.
