Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Tilton died Wednesday, October 7, 1981 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Tilton of Winnfield; three daughters, Daphne Jump of Fairfax, Okla., Pam MacLain of Memphis, Tenn., and Jacque Rutherford of Princeton; a stepson, William Logan of Abilene, Texas; five stepdaughters, Diane Clark of Vivian, Pam McMillian of Logansport, Billie Tarver of Grand Cane, and Melba Stroud and Linda Sue Fallis, both of Winnfield; his father, Charlie Tilton of Winnfield; two brothers, Wilbert Tilton of Ville Platte and O. K. Tilton of Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Willa Dee Smith of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren, and six step grandchildren.
