Elbert Tilton

Services for Elbert Tilton, 59, of Winnfield, were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at
Union Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Mitchell and Brooks Coburn
officiating.

Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.

Mr. Tilton died Wednesday, October 7, 1981 at Veterans Administration Hospital
in Alexandria after a long illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Tilton of Winnfield; three daughters,
Daphne Jump of Fairfax, Okla., Pam MacLain of Memphis, Tenn., and Jacque
Rutherford of Princeton; a stepson, William Logan of Abilene, Texas; five
stepdaughters, Diane Clark of Vivian, Pam McMillian of Logansport, Billie
Tarver of Grand Cane, and Melba Stroud and Linda Sue Fallis, both of
Winnfield; his father, Charlie Tilton of Winnfield; two brothers, Wilbert
Tilton of Ville Platte and O. K. Tilton of Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Willa
Dee Smith of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren, and six step grandchildren.
