G. Tisdale, 80, Held April 7 J. G. Tisdale, 80, known as "Uncle Jule" to his many friends and relatives in Winn Parish, died at his home two miles west of Tullos in Winn Parish at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, after an illness of about four years. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Magnolia Cemetery where Masonic rites were held at the grave. Mr. Tisdale was born in New Orleans July 1, 1868 and moved to Winn Parish about 60 years ago. He had been living at his farm home near Tullos for the past 45 years and had always taken an active part in political and community affairs. For the past 48 years he has been a member of the Charles F. Buck Masonic Lodge in Urania, and also was a member of the Urania Royal Arch Masonic Lodge. Mr. Tisdale had been affiliated with the Woodmen of the World for more than 40 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Miles Tisdale of near Tullos; three sons, Albert Tisdale of Arp, Texas; Sterling G. Tisdale of Sullos; and Phillip Tisdale of Joyce; three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Johns of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Jessie Newton, Comstock, Texas, and Mrs. Tom Morrow of near Tullos; two brothers, Walter Tisdale of Bogalusa and Edgar Tisdale of New Orleans; and one sister, Mrs. Maud Daniels of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Arthur Burns, George A. Williams, and James Hemphill of Georgetown Lodge 298, F. & A. M., and Otto Kees, John Lofton, and Lovenza Valentine, of Charles F. Buck Lodge 260 F. & A. M., Urania. Honorary pallbearers were C. W. LaCroix, E. A. Maxey, W. D. Miller, Jr., E. Doyle, Jody Baker, H. D. Stewart, Earl Spivey, and Dick Claunch.
