Mrs. W. R. Thompson, 73 Years of Age, Dies At Her Home In Sikes

Mrs. Mary Jane Hammons Thompson, 73 years, 10 months, and 12 days of age, died
at her home in Sikes September 22, 1935.  Funeral services were conducted by
the Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of Winnfield Baptist Church, September 23. 
Interment was in the Thompson graveyard.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Butler County, Ala., November 4, 1861.  She had
lived in the Sikes Community for the past sixty years.  She was a member of
the Baptist Church.

Surviving besides the widower are five sons and five daughters: Horace and
Lawrence of Sikes; Wiley of Delhi; Harvey of Shreveport; Ivy of Jonesboro;
Miss Delila Thompson, Mrs. W. R. Sikes, Mrs. L. L. Johnston, Mrs. Lee
Underwood, all of Sikes, and Mrs. T. U. Colley, Monroe; and four brothers, A.
A. Hammons, Dodson, Frank Hammons, Lum Hammons, Gaars Mill, and John
Hammons, Jonesboro.
