Fred Turner died at his home in Hodge, La. at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 1937. Aged 61 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He was born in Vernon Parish and spent most of his life in Winn and Grant Parish. He is survived by his wife and nine children, Mrs. Maudie Hammons of Koline, La., Horace Turner of Winnfield, Houston Turner of Sterlington, Clint, Ray, Luther, John L., James, and Miss Audie Mae Turner of Hodge; two sisters, Mrs. Jim Cryer and Mrs. Henry Smith of Dry Prong; two brothers, J. R. Turner of Dry Prong and A. B. Turner of Bently; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hixon Brothers. Those attending the funeral from Winnfield were H. W. Bass, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Lasyone, Miss Beula Lasyone, Mrs. Lena Looper and Mrs. Walter Eagles.
