T. M. Thomas, 72, Dies; Rites At Lakeside Church

Funeral services for Tommie Melton Thomas, 72, of Route 3, Winnfield, were
held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lakeside Baptist church with the Revs. Roy Moore,
Eugene Love, and E. B. Barton officiating.

Burial was in Couley Double Church Cemetery near Winnfield.

Mr. Thomas died at Winnfield General Hospital Wednesday, February 3, 1971
following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Thomas of Winnfield, four sons, Emmett
Thomas, Paul Thomas, Herman Thomas, and James Thomas, all of Winnfield; one
daughter, Mrs. Carl Rogers of Winnfield; five sisters, Mrs. Leona Williams,
Mrs. Gladys Entrekin, Mrs. Leda Couch, Mrs. Jessie Cockerham, and Mrs. Minnie
Brown, all of Jena; one brother, Arthur Thomas of Jena; six grandchildren and
one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Ron Harrison, Pat Thomas, Sidney Thomas, Everett Thurmond,
Woody Blair, and Lawrence Keiffer.
