H. A. Townsend Rites Held At Joyce

Funeral rites for H. A. Townsend, 82, who died at his home near Colfax
Wednesday morning at 5:15 o'clock were held at the Old Union Church at Joyce
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Interment was made in the Joyce Cemetery. 
Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist minister of Winnfield, preached the services.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Townsend; three daughters,
Mrs. Brady Williams, Mrs. C. P. Lucas, of Colfax, and Mrs. Max Spikes of
Montgomery; one son, Clyde Townsend, of Lake Charles; three brothers, Bob
Townsend, of Baton Rouge, Bill Townsend and Bryan Townsend of Joyce.

[NOTE: Correction submitted by John M. Townsend  - "H. A." Townsend is
incorrect. It should have been "A. J." Townsend.....Andrew J. Townsend, son of
John Townsend. The brother "Bob" is Robert E. Townsend, the brother "Bill" is
William Patrick Townsend, and the brother "Bryan" is Bryant Findley Townsend.]
