Robert Townsend Succumbs Sunday, Services Monday

57 Year Old Native of Near Winnfield Was Camp Operator

Funeral services were held at the Old Union Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m.
Monday, April 14, 1952, for Robert C. Townsend, 57, operator of Fort's Camp on
Saline Lake, who died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday after an several weeks' illness. 
Rites were conducted by the Rev. Rambin, pastor, assisted by the Rev.
Hendricks, pastor of the Welcome Home Baptist Church, and interment was in Old
Union Cemetery under direction of the Southern Funeral Home.

A native of near Winnfield, the deceased was born June 29, 1894.  He was a
member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ila Townsend, Atlanta, Rt. 1; two sons,
Cecil Townsend of Texas and Glynn Townsend of California; one daughter, Mrs.
Lessie Bruce of Rochelle; one sister, Illene Townsend of Joyce; his father,
Bryant Townsend of Joyce; and 13 grandchildren.
