Father of Mrs. Legree Shell Dies Wednesday

Percy Thompson, 78, of Chatham, died Wednesday at his home after a long
illness.  He was the father of Mrs. Legree Shell of Joyce.

Final rites will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Chatham Baptist Church with Rev.
S. W. Tullos in charge.  Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Shell of Joyce, Mrs. O. W.
Poole and Mrs. R. W. Poole of Eros, Mrs. Clarence Madel of Lockport, N. Y.,
Mrs. W. L. Browder and Mrs. Jake Hughes of Chatham; two sons, O. D. Thompson
of West Monroe and A. L. Thompson of Minden; 23 grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
