Russell Tullos, Winnfield Merchant, Dies

Russell B. Tullos, 70, of Joyce, died Monday, January 17, 1977 at 7:30 a.m.
in Rapides General Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Tullos was a member of Old Union Baptist Church
in Joyce.  He was owner and operator of Tullos Dry Goods Store in Winnfield,
and was a former state president of the Woodmen of the World.  Mr. Tullos also
headed the W. O. W. In Winnfield for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leona Tullos of Joyce; one son, Byron Tullos
of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Mae Ellan McDonald of Ville Platte; two
sisters, Mrs. Joyce Pasco and Mrs. Grace McMurray, both of Winnfield; six
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Last rites were conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hixson Bros.,
Winnfield, with Revs. Glenn Griffin and Jack Head officiating.  Burial was in
the Sardis Cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were Jesse James, Danny Tullos, Ben Tullos, Paul Sandau,
Lynn Guillory, Bill Shaw.
