Johnson on the afternoon of the stabbing. Turner went into a boarding house and returned with a knife and jumped at L. C. Johnson, slashing him on the arm. Johnson says he returned the knifeplay with a stab to Turner's head, and that Turner dropped his knife and the two men knotted up on the ground wrestling over Johnson's knife.
