Mrs. Turnley was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Eddy Justiss Memorial Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Eddy Justiss Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Spiller officiating. Burial was in the Nolley Memorial Methodist Cemetery. Survivors include a son, J. E. Turnley, Jr., of Grenada, Miss.; seven daughters, Mrs. Helen Thompson of Jena, Mrs. Iris Russell of Tullos, Mrs. Avis Jones of Grand Cane, Mrs. Jesse Anders of Winnfield, Mrs. Edwinna Smith of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Doris Marsh of Stonewall, and Mrs Inita Lasiter of Morton, Miss.; 27 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Pallbearers included John Paul Thompson, Gary Russell, Ed Jones, Raymond Anders, Billy Smith, Mack Marsh, Robert Lasiter, James Lasiter, all grandsons of the deceased.
