Barney Tyson Funeral Services Held Dec. 25

Barney Tyson, 84 year old resident of Mars Hill community, died on December 
24.  Funeral services were held December 25 at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Zion
Methodist Church.

Rites were conducted by Rev. Miller of Dry Prong and Rev. A. N. Baum.  Burial
was under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Tyson was born May 9, 1869.  He united with the Mount Zion Church 69 years
ago and lived in the community as a member since that time.

Survivors are his wife, six sons, Arnold, George, Willard, Murphy, Euria, and
Harry Tyson; four daughters, Mrs. Lena Curry Montgomery, Mrs. George Long (nee
Jewel Tyson), Mrs. C. C. Prothia, and Lois Tyson.
