Underwood,90 of Jonesboro,died Sunday February 26, 1978 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jonesboro after a lengty illenss. Funeral services were held at 2:00p.m. Monday at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Clyde Parker officating. Burial was in Sikes. Survivors include his widow Mrs. FlorenceThompson Underwood of Shreveport,six sons,Carl Underwood and W.L. Underwood Jr. both of Sikes,Paul Underwood and Charles Underwood both of Baton Rouge,Clarence Underwood of Fort Worth,Texas,and Billy Underwood of Jonesboro;four daughters, Mrs. Corrine Cox of Shreveport,Mrs.Dean Mathodous of New York City,NY.,Mrs. Maxine Kidd of Dallas Texas;24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
