Former Resident of Winn Dies at Brookhaven, Miss.

Ed Upton, Sr., of Brookhaven, Miss., a former resident of Winn Parish, died of
a heart attack at his home in Brookhaven on Dec. 26, 1946.

Mr. Upton, 66, was a lumberman by trade and was well known by older residents
of Winn Parish.  He was formerly connected with the Urania Lumber Company for
a number of years, but left this area to make his home in Mississippi in the
early 1920s.

Last rites for the deceased were held in Brookhaven and were attended by his
brother and sister, B. L. Upton, Sr., Route 4, Winnfield, and Mrs. Mary Howe,
also of Route 4, Winnfield.

Mr. Upton is survived by his widow, seven children, two brothers, and two
sisters.
