S. Cole died last Friday morning after a brief illness at the home of her son Mr. J. W. Atkins at Jonesboro. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. W. T. Strain of Simsboro, assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, Rev. J. H. Brooks, and Rev. J. D. Chelette. Mrs. Usrey was the mother of eight children all of whom attended her funeral. Those from Winnfield attending the funeral of Mrs. Usrey were: Rev. and Mrs. Alwin Stokes, Mrs. J. R. Heard, Mrs. O. W. Gladden, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cookston, Mrs. J. H. Crippen, Mrs. C. Wright, Mrs. Byron Jackson, Mrs. M. D. Morgan, and Mrs. W. S. Maxwell.
