All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 25, 1955 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Sister Dies Upon Hearing of Death of Her Brother Mrs. Kelley Ferguson, 70, of Homer, La., a former resident of Winnfield, died from a heart attack Aug. 18, a short while after being informed that her brother, Whit Usrey of West Monroe, a former resident of Sikes, had passed away. Mrs. Ferguson was a sister in law and Mr. Usrey, a brother in law of Mrs. E. S. Cole of Winnfield. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson were held Aug. 20 at Homer, with burial in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Surviving is her husband; one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Wall, Homer; and two sons, Carl S. and Oscar Ferguson, Shreveport. Mr. Whit Usrey, 60, a former resident of Sikes, died in Monroe Aug. 18. Funeral services were held Aug. 19 at Sikes, with the Rev. Bob Hartsell, Baptist pastor, and Mr. W. S. Emmons officiating. Mr. Usrey is survived by a son, Earl Usrey of Sikes; his wife, Mrs. Effie Thornton Usrey, Monroe; two sons, Emmett and Jack of California; two daughters, Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Marjorie Reed of El Dorado; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
