Dallas O. Varnell

Services for Dallas O. Varnell, 71, of Winnfield, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday
in Laurel Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. J. P. Miles and Charles Haley
officiating.  Burial was in Gorhamtown Cemetery under direction of Southern.

He died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, June 29, 1981 in the local hospital.

He was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church and of Carpenters Local 1811.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Varnell of Winnfield; one son, Ken Varnell
of Houma; two daughters, Linda Stephens of Winnfield and Beth Johnston of
Monroe; one brother, Sye Varnell of Winnfield; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Thomas Williams, Walter Ross, Clyde McLeod, J. D. Jones, Bob
Buchanan, and Rodney Alderman.
