Frank Ott, Sr., officiating and burial was in the Smyrna Cemetery under direction of Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home, DeRidder, La. He died Tuesday, September 5, 1995 at 11 p.m. in the LSU Medical Center, Shreveport, La. He was born in Columbia, La., and was retired from Brown and Root, having worked 27 « years. A member of the Smyrna Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman, loved helping other people. He is survived by his wife, Linda Varnell of Sugartown, La.; two sons, Alan Ray Varnell of Plain Dealing, La., and Michael Lee Morris of Dry Creek, La.; two brothers, Earl Varnell of Columbia, La., and Russell Varnell of Columbia, La.; three sisters, Yvonne Cockerham of Joyce, La., Patsy Clark of Winnfield, La., and Shirley Bell of Pineville, La.; his mother, Tommie May Cryer Varnell of Columbia, La.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
