Mrs. M. Varnell Succumbs; Rites Held Saturday

Mrs. Mary Varnell, 89, died late Thursday, October 3, 1968 at her home after a
brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the New Jerusalem Baptist
Church near Winnfield with the Rev. Willie Broadway officiating, assisted by
the Rev. Homer Ivy.  Burial was in the Bolton-Teagle Cemetery.

Survivors include four sons, Frank Varnell, Mack Varnell, and John Varnell,
all of Winnfield, and Willie Varnell of Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle
Jordan of Dodson, Mrs. Ola Hyde and Mary Franks, both of Winnfield; 23
grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and several great-great
grandchildren.
