D. Vaughn Services for Edward Dale Vaughn, 27, of Westwego, La., were held at 10 a.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Conducting the rites was the Rev. Dewayne Finley, assisted by the Rev. Paul Ellis. Burial was in Lighning Ridge Cemetery. Vaughn died Monday, January 28, 1980 in Morgan City in an accident on his job as a deck hand on a crew boat. He was born October 4, 1952 in Ada, to Ernest Edward and Anna Leota Hampton Vaughn, and grew up in the Oakman area. He moved to Louisiana, graduating from high school in Winnfield in 1971, and served for six years with the U. S. Army. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Savoie, Westwego, La.; father, Ernest Vaughn, Winnfield, La.; three stepsisters, Jimmie Jo O'Connor, Bakersville, S. C., Sondra Carlisle, Bay City, Texas, and Suzanne Long, Winnfield, La.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hampton, Oakman, and Lillia Vaughn, Sasakwa. Bearers were Dale Cooper, Riley Young, C. B. Howard, Junior Grissom, Orb Presley, and Tim Clark.
