Mrs. W. J. Vercher Dies; Final Rites In Montgomery

Susie C. Vercher, 50, died Sunday, December 15, 1968 at 11:30 p.m. in an
Alexandria hospital.

She is survived by her husband, W. J. Vercher of Montgomery; one son, Buford
Vercher of Oxford, Miss.; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Abel of Jacksonville,
Ark., and Mrs. Maple Gifford of Hawaii; two brothers, Louis Dubois and Jessie
Dubois, both of Montgomery; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Hoob of Odessa, Texas,
Mrs. Ardell Graves of Houma, Mrs. Tressie Fredieu of Colfax, and Mrs. Agnes
Dockins of Montgomery; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral service were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Northside Baptist Church in
Montgomery, with Rev. Clarence Brooks officiating.  Burial was in Shady Grove
Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
