E. Vines, Dies At Home In Dodson On Sept.9 Funeral services for Mrs. L. E. Vines, Sr., 72, who died at her home in Dodson, September 9, 1946, were held at the Dodson Baptist Church Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the pastor, Rev. Billie Lawrence of Alexandria, and Rev. H. A. Cockerham of Winnfield in charge. Interment was in the Hurricane Cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Vines are nine children, five daughters, and four sons, S. N. Vines, Earl B. Vines, and L. E., Jr., of Dodson, and L. N. Vines of Winnfield; Mrs. Francis Williams, Kelly, Mrs. Christine Wheat, of Columbia, Mrs. Tina Gates and Mrs. Sina Elliott of Dodson, and Mrs. Videlle Robertson of Jonesboro. Also surviving are 37 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Earnest Vines, James Vines, Eugene Vines, William Gates, Floyd Williams, and A. J. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Vines were married September 1, 1892, and had celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 1st of this year. Mrs. Vines was the former Bettie Russell. Both Mr. and Mrs. Vines were natives of Winn Parish.
