Funeral Rites For Bush J. Vines Held

Bush J. Vines, Sr., 85, of Dodson, died at 11 p.m. Friday night, December 24,
1971 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Hurricane Creek Baptist
Church with the Rev. Harrison Cockerham officiating, assisted by Rev. Billy
Smithart and the Rev. Rayford Higgs.  Burial was in the church cemetery
directed by the Southern Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow; six sons, Albert, Henry, Jim, Clyde, and Leonard
Vines, all of Dodson, and Dewey Vines of Winnfield; a daughter, Mrs. Ella
Snellings of Winnfield; a brother, S. E. Vines of Alexandria; a sister, Mrs.
Lula Cockerham of Converse, Texas; 31 grandchildren, and a large number
of great grandchildren.
