E. Vines, 47, Rites Held At Hurricane Creek Funeral services for L. E. Vines, 47, of Dodson, who died unexpectedly Thursday, May 4, 1967 in a Winnfield hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Claude Womack and the Rev. J. A. Cockerham officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home. He was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a timber contractor, and was employed by Tremont Lumber Co., at the time of his death. He was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. M. J. Fowler and Mrs. Patsy Hemphill, both of Joyce; four sons, Jerry Vines and B. L. Vines, both of Jonesboro, Lloyd Vines and Barron Vines, both of Dodson; two brothers, S. E. Vines of Dodson and Newton Vines of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Morgan Robinson of Jonesboro, Mrs. Gayden Wheat of Monroe, and Mrs. Francis Williams of Columbia, and Mrs. C. H. Gates of Dodson; and five grandchildren.
