All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 14, 1973 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Wilkerson Dies After Brief Illness Funeral services for Mrs. Alaphair Wilkerson, 74, of Joyce, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at East Winnfield Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Yocum and Cecil Ray Taylor officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mrs. Wilkerson died Monday, March 12, 1973 in a local hospital after a short illness. She was a Winn Parish native and a member of the East Winnfield Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, James W. Wilkerson of Joyce; three sons, Glyn Wilkerson of Highlands, Texas, Harlan Wilkerson of Beaumont, Texas, and Phillip Wilkerson of Joyce; two daughters, Mrs. Odez Hernandez of Hodge and Mrs. Virginia Feger; two brothers, A. P. Taylor and Aaron Taylor, both of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Jordan of Winnfield; nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Paul Taylor, Arlis Long, Herbert Lonadier, George Wilkerson, Charles W. Jordan, and Huey Lasyone.
