THE WINNFIELD-NEWS AMERICAN Friday, March 18, 1938 Elbert Wilson of Calvin Dies At his Home Friday, 11th Elbert Wilson, aged 76 years, died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Barbara Brock, near Calvin last Friday evening, March 11. Mr. Wilson had been ill for some time with paralysis. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Sanders Chapel with the Rev. A. H. Baggette officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He is survived by seven children: Oscar Wilson, Calvin; Josh Wilson, Natchitoches; Hardie Wilson, Chatham; Mrs. Cosie Reed, Jonesboro; Mrs. Bessie Gordon, Wyatt; Mrs. Maudie Brock, Goldonna; Mrs. Barbara Brock, Calvin; 25 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Wilson was one of the oldest and best loved citizens of Winn parish. He came from Lincoln to Winn parish when a young man. For many years he had been a member of the Methodist church.
