Last Rites For Son Of Local Resident Held

Howard J. Woods, 50, died in a Bastrop hospital Saturday after a long illness.
He was an employee of International Paper Co. of Bastrop.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Hurricane Grove
Baptist Church near Sikes, with Rev. Harold Holland and the Rev. Ernie Yocum
officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Brenda Kay Woods of Bastrop; his mother,
Mrs. Mollie Woods of Winnfield; two brothers, Wade Woods of Winnfield and
Burley Woods of Thibodaux; two sisters, Miss Mollie Woods of Winnfield and
Mrs. Estelle Gomez of Los Angeles, Calif.
