Mother of District Attorney Wells Dies Sun., Sept. 22

Mrs. Mildred Long Wells, 79, of Colfax, died at 10:20 p.m.
Sunday, September
22, 1968 in an Alexandria hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Sam L. Wells of Colfax and Dr.
Wilbur G. Wells of
Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. Margorie Frye of New Orleans; one
brother,
Quitman Long of Baton Rouge; six sisters, Mrs. H. E. McDaniel,
Boling, Texas,
Mrs. Eunice Rodgers, Wharton, Tex., Mrs. M. E. Bozeman, Sr.,
Pineville, Mrs.
Kelly H. Oliver, DeQueen, Ark., Mrs. Chester Fogleman, Colfax,
Mrs. Lela Merle
Todd, Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and
nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Methodist
Church,
Colfax.  Burial was in Colfax Cemetery under direction of Hixson
Brothers of
Alexandria.
