S. Walker Dies; Buried May 8 In Union Parish Mrs. I. S. Walker, 84, native of Union Parish, and a resident of Winnfield for 35 or 40 years, died in a Leesville rest home Tuesday at 3 p.m., where she had been living for the past two years. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Shiloh Baptist Church, with burial at Shiloh Cemetery. One of Mrs. Walker's brothers, James P. Heard, 80, had succumbed in a Pineville hospital last Thursday, and was buried Saturday at Shiloh. Mrs. Walker had taught school and later served as postmistress in Union Parish before her marriage to the late I. S. Walker of Winnfield. She was a member of the Winnfield First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher here 13 years before her retirement. She is survived by one brother, F. M. Heard of Sulphur, La., a number of nieces, nephews, and stepchildren.
