T. Walker, 83, At Transport Funeral services for W. T. Walker, 83, life-long resident of Jackson Parish, who passed away at Jonesboro hospital Nov. 12, were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Jonesboro. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Mr. Mason, Baptist pastor, Rev. D. W. McDaniel of Winnfield, Rev. G. L. Mortan, Jonesboro Methodist pastor, and Rev. James Stovall of Baton Rouge. Burial was in the Transport Cemetery near Dodson. Surviving are eight children: Pyburn and Gladys of Jonesboro, Edgar of Jackson, Miss., L. Z. of Arcadia, Olon of Pennsylvania, Grace of Baton Rouge, George Thomas of Natchitoches, and William Stewart of Winnfield; seven grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Charles Walker and Mrs. William Elmo Walker, both of Amite, five sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were his nephews.
