All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 5, 1940 Winnfield News-American Mrs. Annie Walters Funeral Services Held Here Monday Member of Pioneer Winn Parish Family Dies At El Dorado Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Walters, age 84, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. King, at El Dorado, Ark., were held here at the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. G. A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist Church, conducted the rites. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Walters resided in Winnfield several years until she moved to El Dorado, Ark., with her daughter, Mrs. King. She was a native of Winn Parish and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randal Sholars, who were among the earliest pioneers of this section. Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. R. E. King, and one son, C. R. Walters of Dodson; one sister, Miss Frances Sholars of Verda. She is the aunt of Sheriff Bryant Sholars, Mrs. G. M. Walsworth, Mrs. A. E. Raywinkle of Winnfield, and Mrs. G. W. Gray of Dodson.
