M. Wallace, both natives of Winnfield, who died at her home in Shreveport Wednesday night following a stroke a few days ago, will be held at the Winnfield Cemetery Friday between 12 and 1 p.m., pending the arrival of the remains from Shreveport. Hixson Funeral Home will be in charge. Funeral services will be conducted in Shreveport at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Wallace, better known as "Mrs. Bertha Will" was 76 years of age. She was the daughter of the late J. H. Crawford, one time sheriff of Winn, and her mother is the late Mrs. Mollie Hallmark Crawford. She is the stepdaughter of Mrs. Clarissa Crawford of Laurel Street, Winnfield; and the sister in law of Mrs. E. E. Kidd, Mrs. Cas Moss, Mrs. W. H. Baker, Mrs. John Mosley, and Mrs. Nettie Smith, of Winnfield. She has been a resident of Shreveport for the past 35 years, where she was a member of the Noel Methodist Church, the D. A. R., and the Eastern Star. She is survived by one son, Purcell Wallace, and one daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Dunlop, both of Shreveport; two brothers, Tom Crawford of Dallas and Edward Crawford of Bossier City; two half brothers, Rev. Nace Crawford of Pasadena, Texas; Harry Crawford of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Becker of Baton Rouge; three half sisters, Mrs. Ava White and Mrs. Mamie Field of Monroe, and Mrs. Mildred Meredith of Longview. She also leaves three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
