All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 1, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise Aunt Phoebe Waller, 91, Dies August 25th Funeral Is Held Friday Afternoon At Dodson Aunt Phoebe Waller, who would have been 91 years old in November, died at her home Thursday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Dodson Methodist Protestant Church with the Rev. J. E. Gaar in charge. Interment was in the Transport Cemetery, Jackson Parish (probably in error and should be Winn Parish). Acting as pallbearers were six of the deceased's grandsons. Aunt Phoebe was born in Mid County, Mississippi and lived the greater part of her life in Dodson. She joined the Methodist Protestant Church at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life. She was confined to her bed for one year and nine months before her death. Through this lengthy illness she was very patient which made it the sweetest part of her life. Surviving are four sons and one daughter, all of Dodson. The sons are R. E., W. T., C. A., and J. H. and the daughter, Miss Ada Waller. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
