T. Walsworth Conducted Dec. 31 Funeral services for Mrs. J. T. Walsworth, Sr., prominent resident of Jackson and Winn Parishes almost all of her life, were conducted at the Jonesboro First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 31, with the Rev. Hurt of Jonesboro officiating, assisted by Rev. W. L. Holcomb and Rev. C. M. Robinson of Winnfield. Interment was in Transport Cemetery near Dodson under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Walsworth passed away at Dr. McDonald's clinic in Jonesboro about 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 29, after an illness of five weeks. Born in Meadville, Mississippi on December 21, 1870, Mrs. Walsworth was the former Miss Ella Temple, daughter of the late B. F. and Marinda Temple. She moved with her parents to Winn Parish when a small girl. Sixty-two years ago, on Christmas Eve, she was married to J. T. Walsworth, Sr., in Jackson Parish. Mrs. Walsworth, a member of the Baptist Church for many years, was affiliated with the Jonesboro Baptist Church and had taken an active part in church work until her retirement several years ago because of ill health. Surviving are three sons, Winn Parish Clerk of Court C. F. Walsworth, Winn Parish Chief Deputy Sheriff G. M. Walsworth, both of Winnfield, and J. T. Walsworth, Jr., of Monroe; three brothers, B. F. and W. D. Temple of Dodson, and George Temple of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. E. J. Hogan of Dodson and Mrs. E. H. Gentry of Monroe; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were H. P. McBride, R. M. Pullen, C. C. Mobley, "Bud" Rogers, C. M. Carter, and Floyd McMillan.
