E. Walker Of Sikes Dec. 11 Funeral services for George E. Walker, Sr., 77, Mason, former police juror, and school board member from Ward 3, who died December 9, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, at the Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes. Mr. Walker was an active church member and served many years as a deacon until his health prevented his activities 10 years ago. Funeral services were under the direction of Reverend Robert L. Hartsell, pastor of Sikes Baptist Church, assisted by Dr. W. L. Holcomb, pastor of First Baptist Church, Winnfield. Burial was by Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, daughters, Mrs. A. L. Sikes, Winnfield, Mrs. Jack Ellerbe, Tallulah, Mrs. Ted Parker, Olla; sons Lawson and G. E. Walker, Jr., both of Sikes; sisters, Mrs. John Stroud, Chatham and Mrs. Pratt Young, Wyatt; 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Masonic services were held by Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 of Winnfield, Warren Allen conducting. Pallbearers were Masons, Dr. H. T. Parker, M. Calvin Bain, Allen Massey, Alfred Cockerham, Aaron Creel, Denver Fox. Honorary pallbearers included Dr. John T. Mosley, Rev. Alwin Stokes, M. L. Branch, Bob Reinhard, Edwin Prince, Arthur Peterson, Tom Creel, Bennie Hudnall, Crosby Adams, Charlie Thompson, Jr.
