Irving Waller Dies Suddenly In Monroe April 24 Funeral Services Will Be Conducted Here Friday James Irving Waller, 49, died suddenly with a heart attack at the Riverside Sanitarium, Monroe, Wednesday at 4:30 a.m. He had suffered a heart attack earlier the previous day and had been carried to the sanitarium. Mr. Waller, who is employed by the State Welfare Department, Baton Rouge, had spent Easter holidays at his home in Winnfield, had visited his father in Eros Sunday, and was planning to attend the State Welfare meeting in Alexandria this weekend. Funeral arrangements were incomplete, pending the arrival of Mr. Waller's daughter, Mrs. Don Thompson, of Springfield, Ill., who is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon. The remains will lay in state at Hixson Funeral parlors, and last rites will probably be held some time Friday. Rev. Alwin Stokes will officiate. A native of Eros, La., Mr. Waller was an employee of the Tremont & Gulf Railway of Winnfield for fifteen years before joining the state highway department, with which he served a number of years. About seven years ago he became connected with the State Welfare Department. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, and of the Masonic Lodge, Baton Rouge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. J. I. Waller, Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Thompson, Springfield, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Holm, Shreveport; one brother, E. R. Waller, of Baton Rouge, and his father, E. V. Waller, of Eros, La.
