All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 22, 1966 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Alice Long White Buried At Zion Sept. 21 Mrs. Alice Long White, 87, of Lee Heights, Alexandria, died at 9:55 a.m. Monday in an Alexandria hospital. She was born and reared in the Zion community in Winn Parish and was the daughter of the late Will and Lucy Long of Zion community, and was the widow of the late Charles Andrew White, building contractor. Mrs. White was the oldest member of the Long family and was also the oldest member of the Zion Baptist Church. She had been residing in the Alexandria area since 1927. Final rites were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Smith, Rev. Kin Dunbar, and Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Don Smith (Willa Dee) of Sulphur, and Mrs. Gilber Henderson (Bessie) of Alexandria; and one son, Otto White of Gainesville, Ga.; three brothers, Frank and Olney Long of Georgetown and Odus H. Long of Tioga; give grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
