Walters Held At Dodson Carey Russell Walters, 80, a resident of the Dodson community, for over 50 years, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in a Hodge clinic. He had been ill for some time. Funeral services were held at the Dodson Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday with burial following in the Greenwood Cemetery., Pineville. Conducting the last rites were Rev. George Foster, pastor of the Dodson Baptist Church, and Rev. B. N. Simmons, pastor of the Homewood Baptist Church, Pineville. Mr. Walters was a native of Natchitoches Parish, having been born March 17, 1879 near Montgomery. His parents were the late Henry and Ann Sholars Walters. He came to Dodson in 1908 and was married to Ada Terral, daughter of William B. and Corelia White Terral. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ada Terral Walters; a sister, Mrs. Bob King of El Dorado, Ark.; two sons, Lamar L. Walters and Stanley E. Walters, both of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Magee and Mrs. Roy L. Barton of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Paul Gaar, Clayton Norred, Roy L. Barton, Jr., John Ferguson, Leslie Dunn, and Jarlon Magee.
