LOU ANNIE WALTERS Lou Annie Walters, 92, passed away Monday evening, July 21, 1999 at Green Memorial Hospital in Kenia, Ohio. At her side was her loving son, Charles L. Walters, MD and his family. She made her home with her son since 1991. Mrs. Walters was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and loyal, faithful friend. She loved her church in Louisiana, the First Baptist Church at Montgomery, where she was a member for over 50 years. Mrs. Walters was born Dec. 3, 1906 in Verda to the union of Martin Luther and Sally Higdon Ferris. She was a second grade teacher in the Montgomery area for close to 50 years. She was a graduate of Northwest Louisiana State College, receiving a degree in elementary education. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and six sisters. Her husband, Willard Lee Walters, passed away in 1950. She is survived by her beloved sisters, Geraldine Brice of Natchitoches; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles L. and Meta Walters of Xenia, Ohio; granddaughters, Marlise E. Walters of the home and Deborah L. Walters of West Monroe; and leaves behind to mourn her memory her many devoted, dedicated, faithful friends in Montgomery. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Entombment followed at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Neeld Funeral Home in Xenia, Ohio. Remembrances in Mrs. Walters name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Montgomery.
