Mrs. J. L. Ward, Former Resident, Dies in Maryland

Mrs. J. L. Ward, 39, the former Miss Kate Nelson, who resided in Winnfield
before her marriage, died Monday at 1:30 a.m. after a serious operation
performed at the Emergency Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland.

Funeral services and burial were held Wednesday at Bethesda.

Surviving Mrs. Ward are her husband and three year old daughter, Mary
Margaret; three sisters, Mrs. E. C. Aiken of Fort Smith, Ark., Miss Ida Lou
Nelson of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Joe Emerson of Winnfield; and two
brothers, S. H. Nelson of Decatur, Ill., and S. S. Nelson of Winnfield.
