Warner, 81, Dies Dec. 17, After Long Illness Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. December 18, 1949 for Rubin R. Warner, 81, who died December 17 at the home of his son, Henry Warner, in Winnfield. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes at the Zion Hill Church, and interment was in the Zion Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Cecil Berry, the Rev. Calvin M. Robinson, Russell Tullos, Modie Berry, Miley Walsworth, and Charlie Ray. Mr. Warner, who suffered a lengthy illness until his death, was born in 1868 and lived in Winn Parish during most of his life. He is survived by five sons, Tommy and Henry Warner of Winnfield, George Warner of Winnsboro, and Lee and Arnold Warner of Wisner, and four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Woods of Ruston, Mrs. Bess Womack of Winnsboro, Mrs. Mead Stringer of Keltys, Texas, and Mrs. Edna Thomas of Shreveport.
