Warren Believed Due to Sunstroke Funeral services for Troy Herschel Warren, 29 year old South Winnfield Army veteran of World War II, were held at the Gorhamtown Cemetery at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, September 9, with the Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister, officiating. Burial was in the Gorhamtown Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Mr. Warren died at his South Winnfield home about 4 p.m. Friday after suffering a probable sunstroke while at work shortly before noon that day. He had been in ill health for some time but relatives stated that his death was due to overexposure to the extreme heat. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Katherine King Warren of South Winnfield and a one year old daughter, Geneva Ann. Other survivors are four brothers, Arthur Warren, Winnfield; Cecil and Fred Warren, Monroe, and Emmett Warren of New York; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Gibson, Monroe, and Mrs. Gussie Varnell. Mr. Warren was a disabled veteran of World War II, having lost a leg as a result of an injury sustained while in the Army. He had been a resident of Winnfield for the past 15 years. He formerly operated a fruit stand in Winnfield and at the time of his death was an employee of the City.
