Wasson, Winn Native, Dies In Monroe Silas E. Wasson, died February 28, 1951, at his home at 1705 S. Grand Street, Monroe, La. He had been in ill health for several years and bedridden for the past two months. Mr. Wasson was born November 26, 1873, in Ward 4, Winn Parish. He was the son of the late John M. Wasson and Sarah Holmes Wasson. He attended Peabody College and worked for several concerns here, at Shreveport, and in Monroe. Mr. Wasson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Stinson Wasson, a daughter, Miss Louise W. Wasson, both of the home address, and a son, Stanley E. Wasson, also of Monroe. In addition he has two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Mixon of Dodson, and Mrs. Orea Sholars of Ruston, and one brother, Charlie Wasson of Colton, California. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Monroe at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
