All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 14, 1940 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Ruth Washer Is Buried Friday At Welcome Home Mrs. Ruth Washer, 42 years of age, wife of James Washer of Hudson, died in Shreveport, Thursday, September 12, at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Cockerham and Rev. A.E. Buchan, at the Welcome Home Church on Friday, September 13, at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Washer was a faithful church and Sunday School worker and was greatly loved by all how knew her. She will be greatly missed in her work among the sick who lived near her. Surviving Mrs. Washer are her husband, James Washer, and two daughters, Delianne and Talmadge of Hudson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Vail of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. L. C. Long of Winnfield; three brothers, Sherman and Leon Vail of Atlanta, Morgan Vail of Nashville, Tenn.; five nieces and two nephews. Pallbearers were R. L. Daily, Debs Jones, Lester Carpenter, V. B. Stewart, Mervin Jordan, Jr., and Lawson Jones.
