J. R. Washer Dies; Rites At Welcome Home

James R. Washer, 81, of Winnfield, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 1970,
in the Winnfield General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Welcome Home Baptist Church
with the Rev. T. L. Rhymes officiating, assisted by Rev. Lester Carpenter.  
Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.

Mr. Washer was a native of Jonesboro and a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include two daughters, three sisters, five grandchildren, and six
great grandchildren.
