Wasson of Natchez, Miss., Passed Away September 24 Albert J. Wasson, aged 72, died unexpectedly at his home in Natchez, Mississippi, on Saturday evening, September 24. Although he had been ill some time death came suddenly. Mr. Wasson was a native of Winn Parish, being the son of the late John Mills Wasson and Sarah Holmes Wasson. He married Miss Dora Carson of Jackson Parish and moved to Natchez sixteen years ago. For a long time he was agent for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. He was a devout member of the Baptist Church and was active in church and civic affairs as long as his health permitted. Funeral services were conducted at his home in Natchez Tuesday morning and interment was made in the American Cemetery there. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dora Carson Wasson and seven children: Clarence Wasson of Oak Ridge, La.; Mrs. Vera Erskins, Alexandria, La.; Julius Wasson of Jackson, Miss.; Mrs. Maud Guess, Miss Hazel Wasson and Mrs. Lorraine Spinks of Washington, D. C.; and Harold Wasson of Natchez. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, S. E. Wasson of Monroe, Charles Bill Wasson of California, Mrs. Oren Sholars of Texarkana, Ark., and Mrs. J. T. Haigler and Mrs. A. L. Mixon of Dodson. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Mixon, Mrs. J. T. Haigler, Dan Mixon, of Dodson, Mrs. H. E. Crawford, of Winnfield, George Wasson of Sikes, Mrs. Warren Curry of Tannehill, and Mrs. K. C. Simmons of Calvin attended the funeral of Mr. A. J. Wasson in Natchez, Miss., Tuesday.
