W. Wasson Laid To Rest In Winnfield Cemetery, September 20 Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Wasson, 57 years old, who died at her home here Saturday morning, were held at the home Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist church, in charge. Inerment (sic) was in the Winnfield cemetery. Mrs. Wasson had been in ill health for several months. Mrs. Wasson was the former Miss Emily Shelton of Sardis, in which community she was born and reared. She was a member of the Baptist church, having joined at Sardis and then moved her membership here. She was a consecrated Christian. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Shelton, and several step-children, one sister, and two brothers: J. L. Shelton of Winnfield and J. W. Shelton of Atlanta; and five half brothers. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral services were: Mrs. Steve Norris of Bossier City; Mrs. Taylor Finley of Minden; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Wasson of Vivian; Miss Kate Wasson of Oil City; Mrs. Tom Ford of Tullos; McBride and Herbert Wasson.
