Services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Gage officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery. A native of Winn Parish, Watts retired in 1963 from a 44 year career of public service that included work in the Tax Assessor's Office, Police Jury, Clerk of Court Reporter, Secretary-Treasurer of the Police Jury, and State Representative. Watts' career began under Tax Assessor O. K. Allen who went on to become governor and included service as head of the Rationing Board in the Parish during World War II and as chairman of the 1944 Red Cross drive which netted a record $11,000. He also served as a member of the first Winn Parish Library Board in 1939. Watts also conducted an abstracting business which he sold to his sons upon retirement. A member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1924, Watts served as Deacon and Trustee and was Deacon Emeritus at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War II and a 32nd degree Mason. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula H. Watts of Winnfield; two sons, Kenneth Watts, Jr. and Richard Watts, both of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Gaar of Winnfield and Mrs. Monnie Jackson of Port Arthur, Texas, and two grandchildren.
